Moving Rally

Why this drill
Standing still is the wall's one bad habit. Angling each ball so the rebound lands a step sideways forces the feet to carry the rally — wall practice that finally looks like tennis.
Setup
A wide stretch of wall, net line marked, five meters back. Room to traverse three or four meters in each direction.
The drill
Rally while traveling: angle each ball slightly so the rebound pulls you a step or two sideways, traverse to the end of your wall space, then work back the other way. One full crossing and return is a lap. Three laps without a miss is the benchmark; count laps in ten minutes.
One thought to take on court
Small adjusting steps between shots — gliding on two big steps is how wall rallies and match rallies both die.
