Moonball Control

WallNTRP 2.5–3.510 minforehandbackhand

Why this drill

The high, deep loop is club tennis's most reliable neutralizer, and its hardest ball to time. Looping against a wall trains both — hitting the high shape, and handling the high bounce it produces.

Setup

Six to eight meters from the wall. Chalk a line roughly three meters up — the loop line.

The drill

Rally with slow, heavy loops that strike the wall ABOVE the high line, letting each rebound bounce once and rise before you swing. The rhythm is patient — almost lazy — and that patience under a high ball is the skill. Count consecutive loops; ten is solid. Then alternate: one loop, one normal drive above the net line, re-timing every ball.

One thought to take on court

Wait with the racquet low and lift through the ball's back — high balls are hit with legs and patience, not shoulders.
