Deep Court Discipline
Why this drill
Wall players drift close because close is easy. Rallying from eight-plus meters — where the rebound arrives slower but drops lower — rebuilds the full-length groundstroke that short-range wall practice quietly erodes.
Setup
Mark a line on the ground eight meters from the wall — the discipline line. Net line on the wall. You stay behind the ground line at all times.
The drill
Full-swing rally from behind the line: every ball must strike the wall above the net line with enough pace to rebound past your ground line on one bounce — weak balls die in no-man's-land and end the streak. Count consecutive full-length balls; ten is the benchmark. Five attempts.
One thought to take on court
Swing through the ball with a long finish — depth at distance comes from extension, not effort.
