Ground Smash Rhythm
SoloNTRP 2.5–3.510 minvolleyfootwork
Why this drill
Smash the ball into the court so it rebounds high, then smash the rebound — continuous overhead rhythm with nothing but a hard surface. Timing, patience, and the habit of getting sideways early.
Setup
Any hard court area away from the net, one ball. No wall needed — the ground supplies the feed.
The drill
Smash the ball down into the court at half power so it bounces high and hangs; move under the descent, get sideways, smash again. Count consecutive cycles — five is competent, ten is genuinely rhythmic. Three best-streak attempts. Power stays moderate; the drill is timing, not violence.
One thought to take on court
Sideways before the peak — if your chest faces the ball as it drops, you're already late.
