Cone Slalom
SoloNTRP 2.0–2.510 minforehandfootwork
Why this drill
Racquet control while moving — dribbling a ball on strings through a slalom — builds the hand-eye foundation beginners need before rallies make sense. Play disguised as practice, ideal for the first month.
Setup
Five cones (or ball cans) in a line, two meters apart. One racquet, one ball.
The drill
Weave the slalom while bouncing the ball UP on your strings — to the end and back is one lap. Drop the ball, restart the lap. Three laps bouncing up, three laps dribbling DOWN to the ground, three laps alternating string faces. Time the nine laps; beat the time next session.
One thought to take on court
Soft knees and a flat racquet face — let the ball land on a table, not a trampoline.
